You might have an idea and think it´s great.
If it passes the first “quality test” from yourself and other people you trust to have an opinion about it, you are in the first phase.
1.) Excitement:
That´s the phase when either people don´t even start, or get very excited and are enthusiastic, and fully motivated.
The excitement phase can go on for weeks, months, or even longer.
Then sooner or later comes the second phase.
2.) The messy middle:
You are in the process of building, have gone quite a long way already and suddenly really unexpected things start to happen and problems might start to arise.
This is the phase when it gets tough and you´ll need discipline, effort, and focus to go through all of this. You might also lose some people along the way because they could go only so far with you on this journey.
The sooner you can be ok with this the better for you.
After a while, you´ll enter the next phase.
3.) Results:
Results will show up for you.
You´ll get positive feedback from people, for the work you are doing and have done. This is the phase where you can harvest what you have sown.
There are no real shortcuts for this, you can´t go from 1 to 3.
It´s important not to give up when you are in the messy middle, phase 2.
And just don´t forget to start ;-).
Wishing you all the best on your journey, Richard.
